Baneswar Shiva temple is situated about 16 kms from Ghughumari. The 500 year old temple was built by Raja Prasanna Narayana. It was not built according to Bengali School of Temple Architecture hence there is no Aat-Chala or Mandapa. It's top is dome shaped with a Mangal Kalash and a trident. The temple complex has a pond with numerous tortoises. A huge fair is held here during Shiva Chaturdashi.
