Medinipur is known for the beautiful tradition of Madur weaving - an integral part of Bengal’s lifestyle. Ramnagar I, Patashpur I, Bhaganbanpur and Moyna Block is known for the intricate weaving of Madur mats. Madur weavers of Purba Medinipur will hold the 2nd edition of Madur Mela on January 8-10, 2018.
The festival is a part of the larger initiative of economic empowerment of the Madur weavers of Medinipur, supported by West Bengal Khadi & Village Industries Board (WBKVIB). Be a part of the festival, meet the artists and get to know about Madur tradition of Bengal.
